Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR, is a highly effective form of therapy that involves stimulating both sides of your brain while processing, or thinking about, specific past events that may continue to influence your emotional responses and behaviors. This process desensitizes (turns the volume down on) your emotions related to the event(s), so they no longer hinder you in your day to day life.  EMDR is effective in clearing out negative core beliefs about oneself, and decreasing the impact of trauma on one's life.
